New Moon 25 June 2025

A new moon happens when the sun and the moon meet at the exact same degree of a sign. Looking up from Earth, they appear to occupy the same spot in the sky. This so-called conjunction sets the tone for the entire lunar cycle that follows, shaping our inner world, emotional currents, and the collective energy field. This time, we are submerged in the emotional realm of Cancer, and the tide is rising fast. 

With Jupiter conjunct this new moon, then Uranus changing signs, three planets turning retrograde and a karmic T-square later in the month, we are entering another energetic turning point. The intensity is not letting up, but the clarity we can gain now is deeply, deeply profound. 

New Moon: The Starting Point

25 June 2025, 4° Cancer (17:10 ICT, Cambodia time)

With Jupiter conjunct this new moon, emotions expand and everything related to Cancerian themes gets magnified. This includes home and family, yes, but also ancestral memory, motherhood, land and real estate, roots, womb wisdom, and inner safety. This is an invitation to open our hearts wider, to redefine what home means in a world of shifting boundaries (literal and metaphorical). We may feel the urge to move, renovate, nest, or finally have that long overdue conversation with a family member, while on a collective scale, themes around national identity, borders, patriotism, and migration may rise strongly into public focus.

The harmonious sextile from Mars in Virgo gives grounded momentum to help us take practical steps toward the security and structure we crave. It gives us the focus and discernment to address what needs care and improvement, both within and around us. This is excellent for taking initiative, cleaning emotional or literal houses, and making changes we've postponed out of fear. With Jupiter’s magnifying touch, Mars’ energy is directed not just toward getting things done, but toward growth, healing, and re-alignment with our deepest truths.

Meanwhile, this trinity of sun, moon and Jupiter builds a challenging square to Saturn and Neptune at 2° Aries for a probably uncomfortable, but oh so necessary reality check. Saturn and Neptune come together every 36 years to dissolve worn-out structures and build new visions. Historically, this aspect accompanied major collective shifts: the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of Stalin's era, the fall of Austria-Hungary and similar outdated regimes. Now in Aries, the sign of beginnings, this aspect births new dreams through action and integrity.
