A solar eclipse happens when the moon moves directly between the Earth and the Sun, blocking the conscious light, to recalibrate our subconscious, so we can follow our true purpose. This Leo New Moon is a total solar eclipse, followed by a lunar eclipse on the full moon. Together, they turn this whole lunar cycle into a big, cosmic reset to realign us with our destiny.
New Moon - Starting Point
Thursday, 13 August 2026, 00:36 ICT Cambodia Time, 20° Leo
Welcome to the first eclipse on the Leo-Aquarius axis! On 27 July, the Lunar Nodes switched signs. The North Node (Dragon's Head, representing our destiny, purpose and what our soul wants to learn) moved into Aquarius, and the South Node (Dragon's Tail, representing our Karma, and what needs to be integrated from past lessons in order to move forward) moved into Leo.
So if we look at the Lunar nodes as cosmic index fingers, pointing at lessons to be learned and topics to be anchored collectively, the question for the next 1.5 years is:
How do we integrate our uniqueness (Leo) into a community service for a greater cause (Aquarius)?
The Aquarius North Node brings teams, networks, like-minded people, material freedom (decentralisation!), mental individualism, digital sovereignty and ethics, especially in tech & AI, into the spotlight. The Leo South Node shows us where the Ego that craves spotlight, praise, and power at all costs has taken over.
And this total solar eclipse in Leo marks the beginning of this 1,5 year journey by pointing out which old identities of ourselves are no longer valid, where our ego has taken the lead along the way, and where we are not operating from our heart.
Eclipses always come in pairs (new and full moon), so their main impact is a window of 2 weeks. These 2 weeks are a sacred time for cosmic course corrections, where we don't necessarily have to actively do, perform, or change things according to our will, but rather listen, observe, and create space to receive the nudges from the universe. (and if we don't, some gentle nudges might turn into a push, a kick, or a proper punch within the next 6 months.)
Eclipses are not about holding rituals and ceremonies, cord cuttings and manifestations. It is the time to surrender to the greater cosmic orchestra, to Source, to our true purpose.
It's the time to allow ourselves to be guided towards what our soul needs instead of forcing what our ego wants.
So when you enter this lunar cycle, make sure to leave your shoes and ego at the door and be as present as you can to see the signs, receive the messages and become who you're meant to be.
Practical tips for this cycle:
Keep it simple: Stay hydrated, ground, breathe, and sleep.
Journal and reflect:
Who am I not? Which parts of my identity are programmed by external belief systems, cultures, religion?
When do I feel like my truest, most authentic self?
What does my soul need to live up to my highest potential?
How can I contribute to the collective without dimming my own light?

Full Moon & Partial Lunar Eclipse at 05° Pisces, 11:12 ICT, Cambodia Time
This lunar eclipse is highly explosive. Mercury conjunct the Sun involves our mind and communication, and Uranus, the great disruptor, rebel, breaker of chains, and ruler of Aquarius (the sign that the North Node is wandering through now), comes in an exact square.
Mercury-Uranus squares are always electrically charged, as they both represent our nervous system, our neuronal networks and our brain, but also electricity in general. Combined with a Pisces Full Moon AND a lunar eclipse, this is a volatile, emotional rollercoaster for many.
Let us be extra patient and extra kind, especially in traffic (this constellation is a road rage trigger) and to people who struggle mentally. The dynamics of this full moon can easily blow up fuses, light bulbs, and brain wires.
