Cosmic Energies 23/08-21/09/2025

A new moon happens when the sun and the moon come together at the same degree of a sign. Looking up from Earth, they appear in the same spot. This so-called conjunction sets the tone for the entire lunar cycle ahead. This time, we enter the earthy fields of Virgo to refine, release, and serve authentically.

This month has something very rare to offer: two new moons in Virgo, the first at 0° on August 23 and the second at 29° on September 22, which will also be a partial solar eclipse. Double new moons in the same sign happen only every 2.5 to 3 years and highlight a theme with extra weight, and Virgo’s call is clear: purification, discernment, and authentic service. The cosmos is asking us to clear out what’s no longer aligned, reorganise our inner and outer worlds, and prepare the ground for the new beginnings that September’s eclipse will bring.

New Moon – The Starting Point

The sun and moon join at the very beginning of Virgo, inviting us to start fresh, in health and with grounded clarity. Yet right away, this new moon squares Uranus, bringing disruptions, sudden turns, or restlessness. The old ways of organizing life may not work anymore. Flexibility is the key. This is also a fantastic time to detox our bodies and change to a healthier diet. 

Venus in Cancer squaring Chiron in Aries touches our tender spots in relationships and self-worth. This is a moment to practice compassion with yourself and others. Healing comes when we stop pretending we are unhurt. With Mercury in sextile to Mars, honest communication and courageous heart-to-heart conversations can help heal what feels raw.

The long-term triangle of Pluto in Aquarius, Uranus in Gemini, and Saturn/Neptune in Aries is like a pressure cooker for change. Pluto in Aquarius stirs up collective structures, Uranus in Gemini brings revolutionary ideas, while Saturn and Neptune in Aries remind us that our visions need structure and leadership. Individually, this might feel like a tug-of-war between idealism and realism. Collectively, we may see reforms in governments, digital systems, and grassroots movements gaining new strength.

The grand Jupiter–Lilith–North Node trine is the big blessing throughout this entire lunar cycle. Lilith in Scorpio joins hands with Jupiter in Cancer and the North Node in Pisces. Lilith, often misunderstood as only wild, feminist rage, also represents queer communities, healers, sex-workers, witches, the power of nature itself and all voices suppressed by patriarchal systems. This is a cosmic invitation to reclaim the feminine principle in all its shades: nurturing and wild, intuitive and upfront, empathic and independent, healing and unapologetic. On a personal level, this could awaken creativity, sexuality, spiritual healing, and the courage to step out of patriarchal conditioning. On a collective level, expect women’s rights, LGBTQ+ voices and alternative healers to rise stronger, more visible, and more powerful.

The climax of this cycle comes with a total lunar eclipse, connected to our destiny and purpose. The sun stands on the South Node with Mercury nearby, while the moon activates the grand trine of Lilith–Jupiter–North Node. Eclipses are cosmic course corrections, and this one is about releasing outdated control, perfectionism, and rigid routines (South Node in Virgo), while opening to compassion, inclusivity, and spiritual healing (North Node in Pisces). Collectively, this could trigger waves of protest, revelations, or movements led by marginalized voices, with the deeper aim of the Pisces North Node being peace.

The eclipse mid-cycle acts as a portal of release, guiding us toward authenticity and service.
